Our Services

If you have recently had some trees fallen or a storm has downed a few trees, what better way then to re-purpose the tree into a usable product for your next building project. This can save you a huge amount of money.

With world leading technology, our Wood-Mizer sawmill helps deliver the most accurate lumber possible with very little waste. Our machine is fast and uses a 1/16” kerf blade compared to most other methods of sawing that use a 1/4” kerf blade, which means we can yield more wood out of a single log.

Due to increased storm damage and invasive pests many municipalities are increasingly challenged with managing tree removal. Westcoast Custom Timber believes that we must go beyond the traditional concept of solely chipping our urban wood or turning it into firewood. We believe there are other opportunities to turn an otherwise wasted resource into a quality wood product while significantly reducing urban wood product from being sent to the landfill.

What we do with our Wood-Mizer mill:

  • On Site Milling
  • Beveled Siding
  • Beams
  • Posts
  • Shingles
  • Slabs
  • Fencing
  • Fireplace Mantles

Some logs are just to large to fit on the mill, or have too much curve in the log to be cut on our mill. Chainsaw milling is a very effective way to cut large logs down to size, or create live edge slabs up to 48″ across.

With a specially designed ripping chain it takes no time at all to rip through a log. The down side to chainsaw milling is that it is very loud and does take longer to set up than our portable mill.  It can produce a nice rough cut finish much the same as the saw mill, but creates much more waste than the thin kerf of the saw mill blade. With chainsaw milling, we are able to mill logs in hard to reach areas that we cannot access with our large sawmill as well as create one of a kind pieces such as curved log benches & so much more.

We created our custom cutting yard to better serve our customers who are looking for quality products but do not have access to raw logs.

At our yard we create everything from standard dimensional lumber, custom fence boards, live edge slabs, beams, fire place mantels and anything else you may need for your furniture or wood working hobby.

We are always bringing in different local species of trees from Arbutus to Oak and everything in between. Having our own yard allows us to do everything we offer for our portable milling and more.

If you only have 1 or 2 smaller logs you want cut, you can bring them to us and we will cut them at our yard keeping the mess and saving you money.
